Our story starts with Myrtle Beach Mustang Week 2007. The founding members and many other fellow Mustang gear heads went down to various events throughout the course of the week. All in all, most of our group was down there on at least one day. Saturday though was the day when most of us were there; about 25 cars from the Fayetteville/Hope Mills area. So, in the following weeks, as the group gathered at the weekly meeting spot (Sonic in Hope Mills), we began to wonder "Why are we not a club?". We were hanging out every weekend, doing things together as friends, and going to various shows and events as a group. The only thing missing was a name and some organization.
That's where the Founding Members started talking seriously about getting this club off the ground. There was a lot of discussion about how we each thought a club should be created and governed, but eventually, we figured everything out and became a full fledged club with a governing hierarchy, member dues, member cards, discounts, car shows, etc., etc...
Fast forward nearly 10 years (Mustang Week 2017 will be our 10th Anniversary), and we're still going. Members have changed (thank you and best wishes to all members), our governing has changed (thank you for your dedication and sacrifice), our favorite hot spots have changed (well some of them), and our lives have changed; we've even had a few marriages as a result of our social interactions... We no longer do member dues, but we're still here!
So, if you have the chance, say hello to Tom and/or Ramesh when you see them. They're the glue that holds us together!
